Top Five Games For A Virtual Baby Shower

When we think of baby showers, we imagine in-person celebrations with relatives and close friends. But due to the pandemic and need for social distancing, parties have had to move to being hosted online. This has led to an increase in people looking for fun virtual baby shower games to play – don’t worry, we’ve got you covered!

Whether you’re an expecting parent hosting your own party, or a best friend who’s in charge of planning, we promise you can still make your distanced baby shower super special! One positive to online baby showers is that all the important people in your life can join, no matter the distance.

At Childs Farm we’ll be sharing our ideas to inspire you to make your virtual celebrations amazing! Up first, here’s a list of our five favourite online baby shower games to play via Zoom…

Ask family and friends to send you pictures of themselves as babies or toddlers before the virtual party starts. The more embarrassing, the better! Pop all the images into a presentation, share your screen, then over to the attendees to guess who is who. The guest who guesses the most names correctly, wins.

Alternatively, you can use celebrity images from the internet – guess that celebrity baby!

A classic music game, with a baby shower twist! Play every song for five seconds and ask everyone to write down their answers – both the song title and artist. At the end of the round, replay all the tracks, and share the correct answers so everyone can mark their own.

One point for the name of the song, and one point for the artist. If you prefer a quick-fire game, let the music play and the first person to shout out each song wins.

The songs could be themed around mums (Mama by the Spice Girls), giving birth (Push It by Salt-N-Pepa), classic nursery rhymes, or songs with specific words in the title. Here’s a list of 30 songs which contain the word ‘baby’ (or babe) in the title to get you started. We apologise in advance if you get Baby Shark stuck in your head! Do do do do do do…

  1. Baby Love – The Supremes
  2. Ice Ice Baby – Vanilla Ice
  3. Baby – Justin Bieber feat Ludacris
  4. Baby Shark – Pinkfong
  5. …Baby One More Time – Britney Spears
  6. Always Be My Baby – Mariah Carey
  7. Baby Got Back – Sir Mix-A-Lot
  8. I Got You Babe – Sonny & Cher
  9. Baby Boy – Beyonce feat Sean Paul
  10. Don’t Worry Baby – The Beach Boys
  11. I’m Your Baby Tonight – Whitney Houston
  12. Baby Can I Hold You – Tracy Chapman
  13. My Baby Just Cares For Me – Nina Simone
  14. Be My Baby – The Ronettes
  15. Babycakes – 3 Of A Kind
  16. Hey Baby – No Doubt
  17. Come On Over Baby – Christina Aguilera
  18. My Baby – The Temptations
  19. Too Busy Thinking About My Baby – Marvin Gaye
  20. Cry Baby – Janis Joplin
  21. There Goes My Baby – The Drifters
  22. Baby, I Love Your Way – Big Mountain
  23. Baby, I Need Your Loving – The Four Tops
  24. Baby Baby Baby - TLC
  25. All She Wants (Is Another Baby) – Ace of Base
  26. Baby - Ashanti
  27. Baby, I Love You – The Ramones
  28. Come Back Baby – Elton John
  29. Ain’t That Loving You Baby – Elvis Presley
  30. I Got You Babe – Sonny & Cher

Now this is probably a game to let attendees know in advance, as trust us, it’s hard! Message everyone ahead of the party and let them know that whatever they do, they cannot say the word ‘baby’. If someone says the word during the virtual baby shower, they are out of the running, and the person that lasts the longest without saying the word is the winner! How long do you think you’d last?

To play this twist on a classic game, share your screen with the below categories and emojis. Then it’s over to your guests to guess the classic children’s films, books and nursery rhymes, with only the emojis as clues. Give your guests about five minutes to note down their answers, then it’s time to run through them all. The player with the most correct answers wins the game! Scroll to the bottom of this blog post for the answers.

This is great icebreaker to add to your list of virtual baby shower games! To play, pick a theme (e.g. the baby years!) and ask everyone one by one to share three statements about themselves, two to be true, and one is a lie. Then it’s over to the rest of the party to guess which one is the lie. Ask everyone to keep a tally of their scores, and whoever gets the most right answers at the end of the game wins!

And there you have it! We hope these five fun baby shower games make your virtual party even more special!
