Childs farm presents a limited-edition range to support our para-athletes

Childs Farm’s products are undergoing a temporary transformation! The much-loved farm characters will be replaced by their para-athletic counterparts across a limited edition line-up of our four hero products - available exclusively in Sainsbury supermarkets.

The campaign is being supported by Clare Balding OBE and Natasha Baker MBE, and the products will be available in Sainsbury’s stores across the UK from the 11th August to 31st August 2021.

We chatted to our friend Natasha about her wonderful horse Lottie, the journey to becoming a para-athlete and her advice for children who want to pursue this dream.

Q&A with Natasha

Q. How long have you and Lottie been training together?

I met Lottie in March 2019 and went to try her a couple of times down in Devon and Joanna and myself bought her at the end of March 2019.

Q. Did you feel an instant connection with Lottie?

I definitely felt an instant connection with Lottie, I knew she was the one for me pretty much straight away. I went down and rode her in a storm, it was pouring with rain with awful winds, and she didn’t put a hoof out of place. She was really cuddly and lovely, and I just knew she was going to be my new dancing partner

Q. What are you most excited about going into the games?

I’m excited for everything about going into the games, each one has something different and special to offer. Obviously, it’s going to be very different during COVID times, but I’m really looking forward to being able to go with Lottie to perform at our best and of course catch up with loads of my friends who I haven’t seen for a long time.

Q. What does it mean to you to be a para-athlete?

It means a lot to me to be a para-athlete and to be selected for the games, it’s a huge honour and I feel really proud to be part of the team. I think we are a group of tough, hardy athletes that have had to overcome a lot in our lives. I love the fact that I have a strong connection with my horse despite my disability, so I think that makes us para-athletes very special.

Q. What tips do you have for children who dream of becoming a para-athlete?

I think it’s really important to have a goal in mind, I said when I was 10 years old that I wanted to become a gold medallist and 12 years on I won my first gold medal. Don’t let anything stand in your way. I was told many times along my journey that I wouldn’t be able to do certain things, but I think if you want something enough you will do anything. Most of all, enjoy the journey.

Q. What do you and Lottie like most about the Childs Farm limited-edition range to support para-athletes?

Lottie and I absolutely love the limited edition range, we love the characters on the front, obviously our favourite one is the raspberry bubble bath. I love soaking in the bath after a hard day in the yard, there’s nothing better than getting into a nice hot bath with loads and loads of bubbles!

The Childs Farm products set to dress up in new clothing are:

Limited Edition Organic raspberry bubble bath

The label on our much-loved raspberry bubble bath features a horse and rider on the bottle doing some delightful dressage. This bubble bath is so mild and gentle; having fun in natural bubbles and moisturising all skin types never smelt so good!

Limited Edition Strawberry & organic mint shampoo

One of the first products launched by Childs Farms back in 2012, it now has a new look with a para-athlete speeding across the packaging in a wheelchair. It rinses out to leave their children’s hair feeling soft and smooth; fragranced, glossy and tangle-free locks now look better than ever.

Limited Edition Sweet orange hair & body wash

Featuring a para-athlete with a prosthetic leg taking the tape, Childs Farm’s best-selling hair & body wash wins gold again.

Limited Edition Strawberry & organic mint 3 in 1 swim

Get out of the pool and into some moisturiser with our “one bottle suits all” combination of shampoo, conditioner, and body wash.

“Childs Farm has been involved with Riding for the Disabled since the founding of the business, and it was through this I met Natasha and Clare and understood more about the needs of para-athletes. Helping Natasha to be able to buy the wonderful Lottie has meant we have seen so many more of the hurdles these amazing athletes have to overcome, so we are thrilled to partner with Sainsbury’s ahead of this summer of sport, to do even more.”

Love
