Ingredients

Each of our bottles is lovingly packed with the best ingredients to protect your little one’s precious skin. We’re here to care for delicate skin and the planet so, we’ve made sure our suncare range is octocrylene-free and kind to the ocean.

Aqua, Dibutyl Adipate, Diethylamino Hydroxybenzoyl Hexyl Benzoate, Glycerin, C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, Ethylhexyl Salicylate, Ethylhexyl Triazone, Phenylbenzimidazole Sulfonic Acid, Propylheptyl Caprylate, VP/Hexadecene Copolymer, Triacontanyl PVP, Bis-Ethylhexyloxyphenol Methoxyphenyl Triazine, Tocopheryl Acetate, Caprylyl Glycol, Microcrystalline Cellulose, Acrylates Copolymer, Galactoarabinan, Cellulose Gum, Disodium EDTA, Caprylhydroxamic Acid, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Tocopherol, Citric Acid, Sodium Hydroxide.

How to use

Spray generously onto skin before sun exposure, rub in well and wait for the sunscreen to be fully absorbed. Reapply frequently every 1-2 hours, and always after perspiring, swimming, or towelling. Applying a reduced quantity will lower the level of protection significantly.

Avoid intense midday sun. Over exposure to the sun is a serious health threat. Keep babies and young children out of direct sunlight and make sure they wear protective clothing and high SPF sunscreens (higher than SPF 25). Do not stay too long in the sun, even when using a sunscreen product. Sunburn damages the skin permanently and should be avoided. Even sunscreens with high sun protection factors do not provide 100% protection from UV radiation. Although this product has been tested, consumer’s individual reactions to the product cannot be excluded.

Avoid contact with eyes, rinse well with clean water if this occurs. Avoid contact with clothing, fabrics, and surfaces. Permanent staining or material changes are possible even after the product has fully absorbed.

We recommend that you carry out a patch test 24 hours before using any product for the first time.

Protecting precious skin from sun damage

Over exposure to the sun can have serious effects on the skin, particularly on young skin. Below are our top tips for keeping little ones safe in the sun.

  • Keep babies and young children out of direct sunlight and make sure they wear UV protective clothing and high SPF sunscreens (at least 25+). In line with NHS guidance, babies under 6-months should be kept out of the sun entirely.
  • Avoid intense midday sun. This is a great time to head indoors for some shade.
  • Do not stay too long in the sun, even when using a sunscreen product.
  • Reapply sun cream frequently every 1-2 hours, and always after perspiring, swimming or towelling.
  • Encourage your child to wear a hat to keep their face protected.
  • Give your child regular sips of water to keep them hydrated.

FAQs

Childs Farm 50+ SPF sun lotion spray fragrance-free

What UVA star rating is your sun cream?

Our UVA star rating is 3, which a good level of protection and meets the EU requirements for UVA protection.

The UVA star rating system was developed by Boots, and it is not an EU requirement to have a UVA star rating. The UVA star rating system is just measure of the ratio of UVA protection vs. UVB protection. If a product has a low SPF, it may still have a high level of stars, not because it is providing lots of UVA protection, but because the ratio between the UVA and UVB protection is about the same. It is important to look for a sunscreen that filters both UVA and UVB rays (broad spectrum), but particularly with a high SPF to block UVB rays that cause sunburn. Sunscreens with SPF 50 protect against 98% of UVB rays, whereas SPF 15 sunscreens only filters 93% of UVB rays.

Sunscreens play an important role in protecting skin from the sun's harmful rays, and as no sunscreen can provide 100% protection it’s important to make sure this is applied and re-applied regularly as well as following other safe sun behaviours, such as wearing protective clothing, staying in the shade during the hottest parts of the day and checking the UV index.

Can your sun cream be used on babies under 6-months old?

Babies younger than 6 months should never be in the sun, as per NHS guidelines, so we recommend that our sun cream is suitable for use from 6 months and upwards.

Is your sun-cream octocrylene-free?

It is indeed, our new sun cream formulation is kind to ocean and octocrylene-free.
